DOCTRINE OF THE SIGNS OF CHRIST RETURN (RBET MARCH 20TH, 2019)

INTRO. We MUST be aware of the signs of the times. Because we are not in darkness, our eyes should be fixed on what is truly important during these troubled times: God's Kingdom and His righteousness. Mat 16:1-4; 1 Jn 2:27; 1 Thes 5:1-6; 2 Peter 2:4-5

 

While the Bible makes it clear that no human being knows when the world will end, it also says there will be signs that Jesus’ return is approaching. Mat. 24:36-42

 

New Testament begins with light in the heavens marking the birth of the Messiah Mat. 2:2.

 

When Jesus was crucified, there was three hours of darkness and earthquake Mat 27:45-51.

 

Before Jesus returns for the rapture, there are signs Lk 21:28.

 

The children of Issachar - had understanding 1 Chron. 12:32.

 

A.  THESE SIGNS ARE EITHER FULFILLED AND/OR ARE GETTING MORE FREQUENT WITH GREATER FORCE Mat. 24:8:

 

False prophets with lying wonders. 2 Thes 2:9; Rev 13:11-14. I Jn 2:18

Scoffers hating the truth. II Pet 3:3-4; 2 Tim 4:3-4

Wars and conflicts. Mat 24:6-7; Mark 13:7-8

Worldwide preaching of the gospel Mat 24:14

Men posing as Jesus will try to deceive people. Mat 24:23-24

Moral bankruptcy. II Tim 3:1-5 ; Mat 24:12

An increase in knowledge and travel. Dan 12:4

Strange happenings in the sky Lk 21:25-26

Lack of peace and safety. I Thes 5:2-3

Festivities and worldliness eating and drinking Mat 24:38-39;

World pushing for peace 1 Thes 5:3; Amos 3:3, 2 Cor 6:17, Rev 18:4

Persecution Mat 24:9-10

Religion without the knowledge of the truth 2 Tim. 3:1-7

Without Natural Affection: Rom 1:26-27

Sodomites, “men with men working that which is unseemly” Rom 1:27

Earth distress of nations, with perplexity. Luke 21:25-26

Strong delusion 2Thes 2:10-12.

Prosperity of the wicked. Dan 11:39

 

B.     BROADER SPECTRUM:

 

The positive spiritual signs outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Joel 2:28-32; Mat 24:14; Dan 12:4,9.

 

The Signs of Technology explosion of knowledge Dan 12:4; Rev 11:8-9; 13:15-17; Lk 21:26. 

 

The Signs of World Politics The focus will be on Israel Zech 12:2-3; Ez 38:2,6; Rev 9:13-16; 16:12-13; Ez 35:10 and 36:2.

 

This confederation of worldwide kingdom Dan 7:8;  2:41-44, 7:7,23-24; Rev 17:12-13. 

 

The Signs of Israel. Regathering of the Jews  Isa 11:10-12; 66:7-8; Ez 36:35.

 

Revival of the Hebrew language Zeph 3:9

 

Re-occupation of Jerusalem Lk 21:24 

 

Resurgence of Israeli military strength Zech 12:6

 

Re-focusing of world politics on Israel Zech 12:3.

 

Restoration of Israel May 14th, 1948, Israel became an independent nation for the first time in over 2,500 years. Jer. 24:2-8; Lk. 13:6-9; Mat. 24:32-34; Isa. 49:22–23 Dan 10:14; 11:41.

 

Israel shall be gathered with power. Isa. 49:13–26

 

All nations will gather against Jerusalem to battle, Zech. 14:2; Ezek. 38–39.

 

Mark of the Beast Technology - the use of smart cards. Rev. 13:16-18

 

The Forming of the New World Order The Bible says that "all the world" will conform to the system of the Antichrist Rev. 13:3-8; 19:19; Zeph 3:8; Gen. 10:5; Deu. 32:8; Psa. 8; Rev. 20:1-7; Isa. 2:1-4; Rev. 13:1-18

 

God's Sabbath Rest. One day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day II Peter 3:8. This means that the one thousand-year reign of Rev 20:1-7 will be a SABBATH REST. Gen. 2:1-3. 

 

Man has been on earth for about six thousand years; so the SEVENTH millennium will be a SABBATH millennium, a time of rest for God's creation. 

 

THE SIGNS ARE CALLS TO REPENTANCE

 

God dealt with the world’s sin through a great flood in the days of Noah Gen. 6. 

 

He called the nation of Judah to repentance through a terrible locust invasion Joel 1. 

 

God uses drought, wind storms, locusts, famine and pestilence Amos 4:6-10; Hag1:10-11.

 

We are to watch and pray: Mt. 24:42; 25:13; Mk. 13:9, 33, 34, 35, 37; Lk. 21:36; 1 Thes. 5:6
