INGREDIENTS OF SOUL WINNERS (PART 1)

The heart is the greatest impetus for effective personal evangelism. The crown of soul-winning will be a mirage except soul-winning is done with genuine godly heart. On the day of reckoning, many soul-winners will be disappointed because either soul-winning efforts were done carelessly and half-heartedly. 2 Peter 1:10-11 “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

A.      A. Jeremiah of the old testament; our example:

Jer. 10:19 “Woe is me for my hurt! My wound is grievous: but I said, truly this is a grief, and I must bear it”

B.      B. JESUS CHRIST, our example:

Luke 2:49 “And He said unto them, how is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?”

Luke 4:43 “And He said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.”

Luke 13:31-33 “The same day, there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto Him, get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee. 32 And He said unto them, go ye, and tell that fox, behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day, I shall be perfected. 33 Nevertheless, I must work today, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a Prophet perish out of Jerusalem.”

Luke 14:16-21 “Then said He unto him, a certain man made a great supper, and bade many; 17 and sent his servants at supper time to say to them that were bidden, come; for all things are now ready. 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. 21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor and the maimed and the halt and the blind.”

John 9:1-5 “And as Jesus passed by, He saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4 I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

John 10:16 “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”

C.      C. Paul – our New Testament example:

Acts 18:20-21 “When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not; 21 but bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.”

Acts 19:21 “After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, after I have been there, I must also see Rome.”
