THE CITY OF REFUGE PART FOUR – FLEE THE LOVE OF MONEY

>INTRODUCTION 

• MONEY    Momentarily Owned Not Eternally Yours 
• MONEY  Many shall die for my sake, Only a few will have me, None shall be happy without me, Everyone loves me, Yet l am the root of all evil 
  
  THE POWER OF MONEY: 

• Money is one of the least trustworthy and most deceptive elements of human existence. It is an unpredictable and wildly unstable guide to value. 1Kg 10:27; Prov.23:5 
• Many diseases threaten us as we journey through life. Some of them could be fatal. It is not only our physical bodies that face danger. The Bible warns of spiritual hazards. One of the most dangerous is the love of money. 
• God warns us about the dangers of money and wealth throughout the Bible. View these warnings as seriously as you would a sign that says, “Danger: Road washed out ahead.” Rich or poor, be alert to the following dangers of wealth or of loving money. 1 Tim 6:9-10 
• No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Matt 6:24 
• Your money can either facilitate to eternality in Heaven or Hell 
  
  DANGERS OF MONEY: 

1. God say the love of money is “a root of all evil” 1Tim 6:10 
2. For money Achan brought defeat on Israel's army and death to himself and his whole family. Jos. 7:24-25  
3. For money Balaam sinned against the truth, against God, tried to curse God.  Josh. 13:22 
4. For money Delilah betrayed Samson and ultimately brought the death of thousands. Judges 16:30 
5. For money Ananias and Sapphira became the first hypocrites in the church. Acts 5:10  
6. For money Judas sold Jesus. What's your price?  Jn. 12:6; Acts 1:25 
7. Love of money makes one to turn away from God Prov. 30:8-9 
8. Love of money will cause you to stop trusting in God.  Job 31:24, Prov 11:28  
9. When money speaks the truth is suddenly silent. Deut 8:12-18 
10. love of money, provides a very unstable foundation for life, Prov 23:4-5,  
11. love of money make it so hard to be humble.  Prov 28:11; Jer 9:23-24; 1Tim 6:17 
12. love of money rob God, Mal 3:8,  
13. love of money make you to rob others. 1Jn 3:17, 
14. love of money bring about selfishness 1Tim 6:18 
15. love of money bring about dissatisfaction Ecc 5:10; Prov 11:28
